PERICARDIAL CYST

Abstract

|
The pericardial cysts have been discussed in medical literature since the early part of the last century, however, Pickhardt, in 1.934, first reported the successful removal of a pleuropericardial cyst from the mediastinum.
Although uncommon, 4 cases of pericardial cyst in Korea have been reported, in reference and recently we experienced 2 cases of pericardial cyst.
Pericardial cyst are most frequently encountered in the right phrenicocardiac angle of the mediastinum, while one was located in right superior mediastinum and the other was in left phrenicocardiac angle.
We report, two cases of surgically removed pericardial cyst with review of the literature.
